Foodie Question of the Day

What food are you willing to splurge on no matter how bad the economy gets?
(A) Meat, poultry, seafood
(B) Coffee
(C) Cheese
(D) Wine, alcohol
(E) Chocolate (dessert)
(F) Organic foods
(G) Other
I think I’ll have to go with (A) seafood. I pink puffy heart shrimp.
You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That… that’s about it.
Bubba Gump knew his shrimp.
But cheese would be a close second.

I’d have to go with A. A good burger or steak can make me forget about the economy for a few
hours. Plus ground meat (beef, turkey, pork, chicken) is pretty versatile.

I don’t know what this says about me, but I’m going to have to go with “D,” which can make ME forget about the economy for a few hours. :)

D. And I’m not ashamed to admit it.

I’ll go with E. I don’t eat meat or seafood, drink coffee or alcohol so the options narrowed down a lot :)

I would have to go with coffee. I usually only use alcohol in cooking, so I buy the cheap stuff for that. Most of the other stuff I can get at work at a discount, but I love my coffee too much to drink Maxwell House. I have to get mine shipped, so it ends up costing around 12 bucks for 10 oz. of coffee.

E. Definitely chocolate. Whatever the economy and the dimes in my pocket…

E. Chocolate
What a beautiful puff! Given your nerves over making this you will really enjoy the Julia Child soufflé video I linked to in my post. She just makes everything seem like no big deal.
