Cake Truffle Saga

I attempted to make Cake Mix Truffles this weekend but I didn’t get a chance to put the chocolate on them yet. I thought it would be fun to take a picture sans chocolate. I give you… Naked Cake Truffles.

Next, it was time for the white chocolate “coat”.

Uh… it didn’t turn out quite right. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

I took my chocolate dipping frustration out on one of the truffles. I really need to control my baking rage. oops!

I think the problem is that the naked cake truffles got soft (I left them out on the counter while my chocolate was melting) and maybe the chocolate needed to be thinner so I’ll add some veggie oil next time? Anyone else got suggestions?

    Maybe try freezing the cake balls before you dip them in the chocolate??

    try crisco to thin out chocolate, that’s what my MIL taught me :)
    also use the freezer like lorena said or leave in the fridge till your absolutely ready, good luck!!
